The DOF FREEDOM Air is an advanced intraoral scanner (IOS) from DOF Inc., integrating photogrammetry-based scanning technology into a compact and highly ergonomic device. It is engineered to deliver precise 3D dental scans for restorative and implant workflows, offering an innovative solution for capturing full-arch and implant position data with high accuracy.

Photogrammetry-Based Scanning

Rather than traditional narrow area stitching, FREEDOM Air uses true photogrammetry — capturing a wide area in a single shot and recognizing coded patterns on scan bodies to map positions with exceptional precision.

This makes the scanner especially suited for full-arch and implant cases, as it can capture implant positions outside the mouth simultaneously without multiple stitched captures.

Precise Implant Measurement (PIM Solution)

DOF’s PIM (Precise Implant Measurement) workflow uses a special guided scanning guide tool and extended lighting lens for capturing implant scan bodies accurately outside the oral cavity.

Data from external scan bodies is merged seamlessly with intraoral data for high-accuracy implant planning. 

 Wide Scanning Area & Deep Depth

A wide field of view (up to 18.5 × 15.0 mm with standard tip) and up to 30 mm scan depth allow quick and comprehensive capture of dental anatomy and occlusion.

Two tip options support different clinical needs — a Normal Tip for general scanning and a Small Tip for limited spaces or pediatric use. 

Lightweight & Ergonomic

The scanner weighs only ~145 g, making it one of the lightest IOS devices available — enabling comfortable use and reduced operator fatigue during extended scanning sessions.
